The recently released Harvard/Harris poll has some bad news for Democrats, chief among them that they seem tired of the circus surrounding the Mueller investigation.
According to The Hill, the poll shows that a majority of Americans feel that the Democrats need to accept what Mueller found in his investigation into President Donald Trump’s supposed collusion with Russia to interfere in the 2016 elections, or that he was guilty of obstruction of justice.
Moreover, over half of Americans believe that political bias played a role in the investigation in the first place:
Sixty-four percent of voters said Democrats should accept Mueller’s findings and move on without launching any new Russia probes, though 61 percent said they support a special counsel being appointed to investigate the origins of the FBI’s probe into the Trump campaign. Fifty-five percent said they believe bias played a role in the FBI launching its investigation into contacts between the Trump campaign and Russian officials.
The poll also detailed that two-thirds of Americans aren’t in favor of impeachment proceedings against Trump, further driving the point home that the Democrats are not going to oust Trump through criminal charges.
As Sister Toldja highlighted earlier, the tables may soon be turning as calls for investigations into the origins of the Mueller investigation are gaining steam, including a recent one from Vice-President Mike Pence.
Both Sens. Rand Paul and Lindsey Graham have blocked resolutions for the Mueller investigation to be made public until communications between the Obama administration and the Clinton campaign are also made available. Democrats have so far refused to allow that to happen.
Attorney General William Barr recently said that he does believe the 2016 Trump campaign was spied on and vowed to conduct a thorough review of all available information.
“I am going to be reviewing both the genesis and the conduct of intelligence activities directed at the Trump campaign during 2016,” Barr said during a Senate Appropriations subcommittee hearing. “A lot of this has already been investigated and a substantial portion that’s being investigated is being investigated by the Office of the Inspector General of the department.”
