Who’s Coming and Where They’re Going

If you live in a Texas city, you’ve probably seen endless highway projects and a skyline dotted with cranes. People are drawn to Texas for jobs, a low cost of living and a high quality of life. In the October issue of Fiscal Noteswe investigate the state’s migration patterns to better understand current trends – and plan accordingly.

We also take a look at Texas biotech, an industry that is big and getting bigger. Nearly 99,000 Texans work in fields related to various aspects of the biological sciences and biotechnology, and their efforts support another 306,000 Texas jobs.
