Governor Greg Abbott today visited three Port Arthur housing developments to survey damage caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Governor Greg Abbott today visited three Port Arthur housing developments to survey damage caused by Hurricane Harvey. The Governor was joined by Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, and General Land Office Commissioner George P. Bush to tour impacted communities and speak with Texans affected by the storm. During the visit, they discussed continuing efforts to address housing issues in Texas after Harvey and how to better coordinate the federal state and local response.
  
“The aftermath of this storm has left many Texas families facing uncertainty when it comes to housing,” said Governor Abbott. “I want to assure those impacted by this storm that local state and federal leaders are committed to a full recovery and getting Texans back in their homes. I want to thank Secretary Carson and Commissioner Bush for their work in rebuilding a stronger Texas.”
 
The Port Arthur housing developments toured today included Bellbrook Estates, Park Central, and Lakeview Palms.
