Hands off My Chicken: HuffPo and Think Progress Still Don’t Want You Eating at Chick-fil-A

One thing you can say about the activist left, regardless of what you might think about their warped priorities: They don’t give up.

It’s been seven years since their calls to boycott Chick-fil-A started over the restaurant’s stance on gay marriage, and despite the gross ineffectiveness of the campaign, liberals are still at it.

Progressive LGBTQ activists were quick yesterday to tweet out the link to a new Think Progress story that details newly-released information about Chick-fil-A’s 2017 donations to various (“hate!!!”) groups.

One tweet that included the link has received nearly 9,000 retweets as of this writing:

CBS News even did their part to help the liberal website amplify their story about the findings.

And because They’re All In It Together™, the Huffington Post tweeted out a story of their own about the franchise yesterday as well:

Their story, however, was not new. It was a recycled one that was published last June.

Though their war on Chick-fil-A continues to wage on, the left’s victories are very few and scattered. A few colleges have banned having their restaurants on campus, but in spite of that people still flock to the restaurant chain every day of the week except for Sundays (they’re closed then) for some delicious “hate chicken.”

Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are active participants in their communities. A few near me have cute newsletters, “cow days” and “kids days” at their locations, among other fun things. They also have fundraisers to help support police officers and first responders from time to time.

And – during summer months – they host “drive-ins” where they broadcast family-friendly movies in their parking lots in the evenings for customers and their children to enjoy while eating their meals and sipping on their homemade lemonade.

Also, we’ve all read the stories about how the restaurant will open their doors to emergency personnel and local residents hit by catastrophic events, serving free food and drinks to help out all impacted.

Furthermore, in spite of the fact that – unlike Starbucks – you can’t find a Chick-fil-A on every street corner in America, they’re the third biggest restaurant chain in the U.S.

Outside of social justice warrior snowflakes, most people don’t care to have their food choices politicized. And they definitely don’t take too kindly to you mocking their Christian beliefs.

People still want to eat a Chick-fil-A. And they will continue to eat at Chick-fil-A. The restaurant will continue to thrive, in spite of the outside noise and nonsense. It’s really quite simple.
