We live in a society which is designed to create niches and keep us separate. Economic apartheid insures people of different economic classes do not mingle. Our subdivisions are not diverse in economics, but very controlled. Only a certain level of people will be able to afford these houses, thus the area created is conforming. Our health clubs, schools, shopping centers, restaurants, even automobiles are alike and kept within the guidelines our economic class has dictated.
So to break out, we must learn to experiment and seek out new people and new ideas. We must fight conformity.
We need socialization? If we do not socialize, we will be in trouble. I know there are loners out there, but they too need socialization. Expand your world. Do not just listen to those who agree with you. Do not surround yourself with like minded individuals. Include people in your circle who despise your views and positions. Have a dialogue.
We are controlled by the politicians, as they use our views to keep us separate. The landmark court decision in America on equal but separate justified this behavior of creating zones within our society for like minded individuals to create a community. Then it would exclude those it did not desire thru economics. The inference here was equality. Separate but equal is an acceptable solution. Unfortunately America is not equal, but only separate.
Restaurants are prime example. The more expensive the restaurant the more racist it is. Its not overt, but it is a type of apartheid being practiced. In this environment you cannot even complain or point out the truth, as capitalism is the justification. It is their right to spend what they earn and where. Those who claim hard work got them where they are, are generally in denial as to how much luck and birthright plays in success. There are exceptions to all rules, however where you start a race generally has a very large influence on where you finish.
The brown in me is on a nostalgic tour of my home city and is realizing the neighborhoods in the old days were great because they had diversity. Diversity in our times should not be judged by color or culture, but economics. However at some point our culture began to promote big and suburbia and then we created gated communities. Our media made it their mission to brainwash us into believing the goal of life was upward mobility. Happiness is not relevant. Get yourself to the right neighborhood, drive the right car, eat at the right restaurants and then go see the right psychologists to complain about your anxiety and depression.
It amazes me how many people are on Facebook or talking about the crimes of this administration. Mostly the left leaning democrats who truly believe they are better people than those who disagree with them, because at the moment the other side has the president. I am sure in the last cycle the roles were reversed. Yet they don’t see they perpetuated this situation and still do. These are the same people who live the ultimate capitalistic life which by nature separates the have from have nots. How many conversations about equality, health, homelessness, the corruption have taken place in restaurants where the people being discussed would not be able to partake? That’s hypocrisy. ” I feel good discussing the faults of this administration, it allows me to look in the mirror. ”
The reality is we are all to blame. We want the condos downtown. We want the BMW. We want to pay $7 for a Starbucks latte. We all want to eat in that glorified restaurant featured on the show. If you believe they are two separate things, then you like the majority, will never be able to change this world. The left will not vote out democrats and the right will not vote out republicans. As long as they don’t vote out all incumbents all this talk of change is just that. There is no movement, its just the same people every cycle changing some seats, but the core controls and corrupts. So if you hate this administration, you better hate every single elected official that was there before. They created this mess. If you love this administration, you better realize the same people who created the situation which led you to want change are in power.
I have a very good Trumpian friend who likes to use the analogy of trains. Its time to get on the train of change. The Trump train. Its his mantra and he wholeheartedly believes there will be change. The brown in me is all for change, and most of the readers here have mistaken my need for change as support for this administration. What I like to point out to my friend is trains only go where the tracks are. Who laid the tracks? We need new track lines.
