“You my friend have an information deficiency.”

Ever have a conversation with someone who argues with you based on what they heard on a cable news station.  A story which is less than 2 minutes and this person now believes, he or she is an expert. They have no personal experience, nor have they invested in reading further on the issue.  They have no reason to feel they are well versed, yet they will argue even with an expert on the field.  In today’s world this is happening too often.  I call it CNN or Fox smart.

What is even more disturbing is the news reporters are themselves information deficient. If the brown in me was to argue brain surgery with a brain surgeon, I would be operating from a position of information deficiency. I have been told countless times by people how Muslim children are brainwashed to be terrorist regardless of where they were born or where they live. How each child is taught from day one to hate non Muslims. The people who are promoting this, are not Muslims. They have not grown up in a Muslim house, nor a Muslim country, yet they feel empowered to argue with a Muslim born in a Muslim country and a Muslim home.  This is an example of information deficiency.

An African trying to explain to a Canadian why they cannot win the Stanley cup is someone working with information deficiency.  An American spouting the benefits and advantages of Canadian health care without ever living there has an information deficiency. A Canadian arguing the greatness of Obama, without having to have lived in America during his presidency has an information deficiency.

Forthwith I will use I D to represent information deficiency and to use it when I find the need to call someone, stupid, dumb, idiotic, brainless, ignorant, and moron. It just sounds more palatable. It’s big words which to those it applies to will not even realize as an insult.  It may even stop confrontations.  Calling someone stupid, will cause anger.  Yet the following sounds a lot more palatable;

“You my friend have an information deficiency.”
