In the March issue of Fiscal Notes, we discuss cybersecurity in Texas — the industry that has sprung up in response to a rising tide of fraud and theft on the internet. Recent data indicate that cybercrime cost Texas individuals, businesses and institutions nearly $116 million in 2017, and companies are hiring freshly minted cybersecurity specialists as fast as they can.
