Regardless of your faith, life is about celebration. Celebration is about people and family. Enjoy every chance you get to celebrate.
When my children were young we use to have these elaborate spring parties where way too many people showed up and we arranged all kinds of games for the kids. The adults got to mingle and the kids played. What I wanted to teach my children was the lesson of people and celebration. Being social and having social interactions is in our DNA. A lot of joy comes from social interactions. It’s why we go to bars and nightclubs. It’s why we go to sporting events. There is a certain feeling which comes from being in a group.
I am not a consumer type of a person, so Christmas in the western world does not appeal to me at all. However the parties which happen in the name of Christmas I find appealing. Birthdays are not about presents but about a party. Death too for some culture is a party. A celebration of the life. Like the lesson from last week about having fun friends, the lesson today is have fun. Celebrate and Party. On this the eve of Christmas my wish to all is to celebrate and to my children find an excuse wherever, whenever to Party. Watching TV at home or playing video games alone is going to depress you sooner or later. Never drink alone, eat alone, or most importantly laugh alone.
