There’s an area on San Antonio’s Northeast Side that’s considered one of the hottest home markets in the country. People are flocking to the 78247 zip code. It comes in at No. 5 out of 32,000 zip codes in the country for home sales, according to Realtor.com. “San Antonio, I think, is growing and attracting a lot of young people because we have many colleges and universities, medical, tech, military, and millennials have been moving to our area to get jobs and they make up 36 percent of mortgages in that particular zip code,” said Michele Bunting Ross, chair-elect for the San Antonio Board of Realtors. In San Antonio, millennials have a homeownership rate of 61 percent which is 1.6 times that of the county and 1.5 times the rate in the U.S. “78247 is a well-established area,” said Ross. “There’s a lot of existing home inventory, it’s a great location, there’s parks nearby, it’s close to 281, and the prices are very affordable.” The average price is a little more than $180,000, while San
