Speaking the truth will get you in trouble. In our society, truth is not as important as image and political correctness. The brown in me taught my children, truth was the most important virtue. They could make mistakes and do wrong and not get punished. If they lied, they got punished.
This week Canada got in trouble for stating what the world knows is true. However finance wants to ignore the truth of Saudi Arabia. Then out of nowhere the bully in a small pond decides he is going to take offense. The silence of the rest of the world is a sign of what I stated. Truth is not relevant.
27 children killed by a bomb dropped by said bully in Yemen on a school bus. Where is the condemnation? Giving 12 women family members the right to drive while the rest of the women in your country are abused and jailed is not progressive. However every story mentions the right to drive. It’s how the media plays it. Except now the bully has made a tactical mistake. He still has a chance, since in the western world there will always be those to support the star trek idea. We should not be meddling in other countries business.
On a lighter note, the same principle got a young woman jailed this week in South Carolina. When stopped by the cop for speeding, intoxication and running a red light, she tried to get out of the ticket by telling the truth.
I don’t blame her, her sentiment is true. Clean, thoroughbred white girl, cheerleader, sorority member from a high credited university usually get away with this and more in the American society. Did this officer have no black man to shoot? Why is not out there arresting Mexicans, instead of picking on clean white girls? Damm Truth will always get you in trouble.
The Truth Teller:
I usually don’t want to use people and their images, but this deserves a place in my blog.
