Governor Greg Abbott today released a statement encouraging Americans across the country to come together and assist Texans as they rebuild their lives in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
Governor Greg Abbott today released a statement encouraging Americans across the country to come together and assist Texans as they rebuild their lives in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. On Friday the Governor announced the formation of the Rebuild Texas Fund, which was established by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation in partnership with the OneStar Foundation to provide relief to the victims. For those who donate now through midnight on Monday, September 4 to the Rebuild Texas Fund the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation will match $1 for every $2 in donations for the first $36 million raised. Those wishing to donate can do so by visiting www.rebuildtx.org or by texting “Rebuildtx” to 91999.
“I continue to be amazed at the outpouring of support the victims of Hurricane Harvey have received from their fellow Americans,” said Governor Abbott. “With the match deadline looming, I encourage those who can, to contribute to this fund that will help those affected by Hurricane Harvey rebuild their lives. A Texas-sized storm requires a Texas-sized response, and I have no doubt that those throughout the country will assist in this response effort.”
