The weekend is upon us, and whether it’s art, nature or a neighborhood block party, we’ve got you covered. First off tonight head to the West Side for the party with the fun name: “We’re about to host our Summer Youth Chupachanga.” Keli Rosa Cabunoc of San Anto Cultural Arts says the kids have been creating lots of art. “We hosted over 30 workshops on things like print-making, muralism, public art. They created portraits, they did photo-journaling, poetry, literary arts. All kinds of workshops.” And now they’re going on display, their works for you to see in a block party at El Paso and Chupaderas streets. Art, music and food in an old style block party. “From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., it’s a family-friendly event.” Also, tonight at the San Antonio Museum of Art: their newest exhibit, Highest Heaven. “The art really melds the Old World with the new.
