Texas is a state where a good food safety manager needs four food manager traits:

  • Ability to implement food safety procedures in the workplace

Understand of Food Quality

Texas restaurants and food services provide a very diverse menu of food goods to the public. As such, a food safety manager should have completed a food safety training course to understand the link between food quality and food safety. For example, food safety managers must know proper procedures for storing raw and cooked meats. They need to know compliance regulations regarding expiration dates on organic products like milk, cheese, eggs and canned, processed foods.

Good Managerial Skills

Upon passing the exam, Texas food managers receive a certificate that is required to be posted in an area visible to consumers. Note that candidates who take food manager examinations may obtain exam results from the accredited program or licensed test site where exams are administered.
