Texas Comptroller’s Director of Enforcement Honored as a 2018 Outstanding Women in Texas Government Award Recipient

(AUSTIN) — Dona Medlock, director of the Texas Comptroller’s Enforcement Division, was one of four women honored during a luncheon today to announce the 2018 Outstanding Women in Texas Government Award recipients.

The State Agency Council to Gov. Greg Abbott’s Commission for Women recognized Medlock for outstanding leadership. Medlock, director of the Enforcement Division since 1995, leads a 400-person staff spread across 22 field offices in 19 cities. Under her leadership, the division’s delinquent collections totaled a record $1 billion in fiscal 2018.

“This honor from the governor’s office is really a reflection of the team I work with in the Enforcement Division – a truly great staff of hard-working professionals,” Medlock said.

Said Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar: “The people of Texas are lucky to have such a dedicated and talented public servant working on their behalf. This achievement recognizes a career spent leading a team that always prioritizes Texas taxpayers and ensures their dollars are protected.”

Other honorees are:

  • Outstanding Professional Development: Rachel Garcia, San Jacinto College
  • Outstanding Management: Karen Bondy, Lower Colorado River Authority
  • Outstanding Community Involvement: Kathleen Murphy, Texas Department of Public Safety

In addition to offering professional development training to its members, the State Agency Council supports the Governor’s Commission for Women, which seeks to promote opportunities for Texas women through outreach, education, research and referral services.
